About the Cole Harbour Harvest Festival Society
Who Are We?
The festival is planned, programmed and run by the Cole Harbour Harvest Festival Society.
The Cole Harbour Harvest Festival Society is a non-profit, voluntary community-based organization.
Key organizers will be contributing to planning of the festival with representatives from the following:
- Cole Harbour Place
- HRM Community Development and Cole Harbour Recreation
- Cole Harbour Boys and Girls
- Salt Marsh Trail Running Club
- A group of equally committed community adult volunteers, community musicians, and youth volunteers.
Objectives Of The Cole Harbour Harvest Festival
- To celebrate the Cole Harbour community by showcasing its diversity, creativity and talents.
- To increase community involvement through volunteerism, networking, and participation.
- To encourage a sense of community pride through experiential, educational, and creative activities that reduce community waste.
- It is our goal to have the planning of our festival as a consultative process, with formal and informal discussions. We aim to continue and expand the partnerships that will be formed.
Why We Do It...
The purpose of the Cole Harbour Harvest Festival is to bring people together to celebrate the richness of Cole Harbour. Although this event centers on a music concert, it is also a time to build community pride, respect and awareness. Participants will enjoy games, physical activities, Health Fair, Farmers’ Market, food, a music concert of local youth and adult bands – ending with a great fireworks finale!
